If you haven’t been for a walk to Mullawallah Wetlands before then maybe today is the day to explore! You can access the wetlands from two entries although the most direct access with some parking is via Lucas Lane off Remembrance Drive.
It is a special site with cultural, historical and environmental significance.
Mullawallah was a significant resource for aboriginal people who used the wetland to collect valuable food and materials.
Also of importance is that the wetlands are home to many bird species, some of which are inter-continental breeders and are highly endangered.
